Fresh details have emerged over the alleged kidnapping of former Test cricketer Stuart MacGill.

Four men have been arrested in relation to the crime after search warrants were executed across Sydney.

In yet-another a cruel blow to MacGill’s confidence, one of the men has spoken today saying it was a case of mistaken identity.

“We were actually going for Shane Warne,” the man said.

“Why would we take the Sweet Prince when the King Of Spin was available? An annoying administration error on our behalf.”

A disappointed MacGill spoke to reporters this afternoon about the mixup.

“I really thought this kidnapping was my opportunity to step out of Shane’s shadow,” MacGill said.

“Just like the Australian selectors in the 90s they only ever had eyes for Warnie.”
